Sunrise, I love checking each morning to see how far the sun has moved on its path toward winter, well to be truthful, I like it better when its moving towards summer!
Ibuprofen and knee braces help me walk!
Here we go off on our morning walk to the place of the Hohoyaw'u (stinkbug). We are seeing lots and lots of them right now!
We turned around sooner today, only made it a bit over 1 mile, we were both tired and hurting this morning.
John waiting while I take photos, a common thing on our walks!
I tell him,
I walk, I see, I stop, I photograph!
My fall flower is starting to open up!
Breakfast on the patio, PB and J toast for me and cereal for John. There was a cool breeze blowing on us, it feels like fall!
I don't know how two people can dirty so many dishes, but we do!
I am working on photo backup today. I just purchased two 2 TB drives because my other ones were full and I am moving 2015 photos to these two drives, duplicating them so I will have two backups.
John is working on the dump wagon, it looked horrible when he picked it up! It was a floppy piece of broken, bent pieces. Look at it now! He's done lots of repair, straightened out bent steel, replaced some of the wood that wasn't repairable and put in missing wood.
Did some research this morning on the Hopi word for stinkbug. Years ago, a guy we met at an archaeological dig had a t-shirt with Ho Ho Yatsamo (not sure how it was spelled) on it and he told us it meant "Place of the Stinkbug" So every time I see a stinkbug that pops into my head. From my research today, that wasn't right, Hohoyo'u is stinkbug, so we've been saying it wrong all these years and the meaning was wrong, too. ( I found several different spellings of the word.)
I played a few games of solitaire while waiting on my photos copying.
The best thing about lunch was eating it outside!
Our shopping list
It was a beautiful day, a few clouds, no rain here.
Watched an episode of MASH and Bad Ink.
Then we watched this, it's a CD that Eric loaned John, we think it was probably made to show soldiers back in the 50's to make them think it wasn't so bad to be around atomic bomb testing and radiation. I wonder how many of them later got cancer!!!
Sunset as seen from the top of the stairs to John's studio.
Artworks on the front of the shop.
Almost bedtime again, not sure taking these is helping us sleep, some nights we sleep well and some we don't.
